On July 7-11 V.Kozyulin, Chief Researcher of the Center for Global Studies and International Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Russia, by the invitation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in monitoring the early elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Observers from foreign states and international organizations were accredited by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As the international observer from Russia with mandate №718, V. Kozyulin visited polling stations in the city of Bukhara. As a result of the observation of the voting process, no cases of illegal campaigning were noticed and no complaints were received from party observers. V.Kozyulin believes that the presidential campaign and the procedure for organizing voting meet international standards for open and democratic elections.

V. Kozyulin also held meetings with the leadership of the Diplomatic Academy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Institute of Central Asia, where the sides discussed the prospects for cooperation in scientific and educational spheres.
