The XVII UN Forum on Internet Governance in Addis Ababa is officially over. More than 5,000 representatives from 170 countries of the world took part in the event. The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia at the UN Forum on Internet Governance was represented by the Executives of the School of International Information Security:
— Researcher at the ICIS of the Diplomatic Academy, head of the School of International Information Security Arevik Martirosyan;
— Head of the Department of Scientific Activities of the School of International Information Security Darya Stepova.
The School of International Information Security, together with the Youth Council of the Coordination Center for RU.domain, took part in three sections: in two as speakers and in one as an organizer — session №42 "Youth initiatives of the Russian Federation: the experience of the IIS School and the Youth Council of the CS".
At the session №19 "Joint Exchange of Leadership Skills of the Internet Society", Arevik Martirosyan, as Youth Envoy of IGF 2022, presented her project titled "The Internet and the Sustainable Development Goals". The objective of the project is to conduct an international scientific study of the relationship between the Internet and the SDGs and start the development of a scientific discourse on the topic.
As part of the session №318 "Generation Z in cyberspace: are we safe online?" Daria Stepovaya noted that more attention should be paid to ensuring the safety of children on the Internet at the legislative level, and Arevik Martirosyan spoke about global trends in legislative practice in terms of protecting children on the Internet and about Russian prospects in this direction.
Session №42 was devoted to Russian youth initiatives — the Youth Council of the CS and the IIB School. Pavel Pozdnyakov, specialist of the CS external communications Department, moderated the session. Andrey Aleinikov, chairman of the CS Youth Council, and Arevik Martirosyan, initiator and head of the IIB School, member of the CS Youth Council, were invited as speakers. The session was organized by Daria Stepovaya, a member of the Executive Directorate of the IIB School and the Youth Council of the CS.
